What is the difference between an Infrared Body Wrap and an Infrared Sauna? An Infrared Sauna is a heated box that is mostly used while seated. It provides the same great benefits as a wrap, however, it heats the air that you breathe. This can make it a bit uncomfortable. An Infrared Body Wrap is like a warm blanket. Much like a sleeping bag in that you are surrounded by warmth but your head stays outside of the wrap. It is much more comfortable to recline, relax and maybe even take a nap. It also allows you to breathe room temperature air.
How do infrared body wraps work? The infrared safely and gently heats the body, allowing the body to produce sweat. Read about the many benefits here.
Who should not use Infrared Body Wraps? While we recommend that all client's consult with their health provider before starting any nutritional, wellness or fitness program...if you are or suspect you are pregnant...please do not use the Infrared Body Wrap.
How often should I have a wrap? Our recommendation depends on your objective…
1x/week if… You are very active and seeking muscle recovery. Your schedule is hectic and stressful. You just need a little “me” time.
2x/week if… You suffer from arthritis, fibromyalgia or similar chronic body pain. You want to look younger. It's just really brutally cold outside.
3x/week if… You want to supplement your weight loss or detox program for the first 4 weeks and then 1x/week for maintenance.
Do I have to completely undress? You can bring a swim suit or an extra set of undergarments, if you like. However, you will change into a disposable, water-proof, white body suit for the duration of your infrared wrap session.
Can you describe an Infrared Body Wrap session? The 60-minute session includes resting in a body wrap that looks much like a sleeping bag. We have photos here. You will dress in a water-resistant body suit, slip into the wrap and listen to your favorite playlist or take a nap. Slowly your body heats to a point of producing a sweat...sometimes a little, sometimes buckets. A soft buzzer will sound to let you know your session is over. Throw your body suit away, towel off and then just throw the towels on the floor. We will take care of all that! Get dressed and walk out feeling lighter, warmer and relaxed yet energized.
Should I shower beforehand? You don't have to...but a clean sweat is the best sweat. You can also come right after work or before/after a workout.
How do I prepare for an Infrared Body Wrap session? We provide everything you need to have a successful body wrap session. Our best recommendation is to drink lots of water...everyday...but especially 24 hours before your appointment.
How many calories will I burn in a single session? That's a tough one to qualify. Everyone's body is different. However, sources indicate calories burned can be 600+ in a single visit. In addition, there is the after burn.
Is it okay for me to bring my child in with me to my session? We strive to provide a comfortable and distraction-free environment. As a courtesy to our other clients, we ask that you do not bring children with you to your session.
I just had smart lipo, injections, a chemical peel or other procedure yesterday...am I still okay to come in for a session? We recommend you call your doctor, dermatologist or surgeon's office to get their approval.
